The most impressive machine to appear was ‘The Tasmanian Devil’ built by Charlie Dodge and George Snizek. This A/Roadster is beautiful and goes as well as it looks. The flawless workmanship is par for the course for Mssrs. Dodge & Snizek. A fiberglass Austin Bantam roadster body with an aluminum belly pan sits on a R-16 Chassis Research roadster frame powered by a brutish-looking, whooping big 454 c.i. Chrysler, blown & injected. This one gear machine, driven by Charlie, netted a run of 136.20 in 10.80 early in the morning for low ET. This roadster is destined for a great future in "Hot Rod" history.
