Gold Coast Show - 6/27/2010
Keepsake memories...
We got there early hoping to see the Taz arrive. The line into the park was LONG and slow!
We took note, as we sat stopped in traffic, of the man sitting on his front porch watching his very own personal presentation. The rumbling line-up would not allow anyone living along this street to sleep late... though the show hadn’t started, the show started.
Making our way around the long participant entry lines, I, for one, was glad we got there early. There were still parking spots available. Clearly that wasn’t going to last for long.
As we walked into the Park, men in yellow shirts scurried here and there. Wouldn’t you know, the first guy I went to inquiring where the Taz was going to set-up, was none other than Roy Miller. This was my first meeting. Roy was a key player in the creation of the new Taz. I am sure as time goes on I will learn more... but for now, I am happy to know him sheerly on the fact that he brought a piece of my father’s history back to life. A big Thank You for that!
We were directed to the area next to the gazebo. It was taped off and waiting, with anticipation, as were we...

We got there before Taz did
Talk about owning the road...
Mustang is mint! Reminded me of my first car. Only mine was in Forest Green.
Truck was mint too! Cute stuffed German Shepherd in the front seat, and historical trunk in the bed. Nostalgic roads all around.
I Scream for Ice Cream
Okay... this brought back memories!
I realize I am outing my age, but I remember getting ice cream from a truck exactly like this. Really wanted to buy the kids a treat, but it didn't house the cold treats.
Alex and Charlee
Dejavu
It is funny to see my children sitting at a car show.
A bit different than the "car events" I remember.
No smell of smoke or nitro in the air.
No deafening noise. Though there is that 'bit' of history...
